The cardiac screenings at South Ripley High School were completed on April 23rd and 24th at South Ripley High School.  33 student athletes were able to take part in the screening program, with each of them getting an EKG and echocardiogram test done.  We appreciate the coordination and cooperation from all parties involved (South Ripley High School, Margaret Mary Health, The Christ Hospital, and the student athletes(and their families).  We feel the program was a success, and we look forward to offering cardiac screenings in the future at SRHS and surrounding schools!

Giving Hearts a Hand has reached agreements with Community Health Network (Indianapolis), Johnson Memorial Hospital(Franklin), Margaret Mary Health(Batesville) and The Christ Hospital(Cincinnati) to provide cardiac screenings in high school athletes in the Indianapolis and Southeastern Indiana areas. Area schools will continue to be selected to work collaboratively to provide screenings in the future.  The medical facilities' technicians will perform the screening process, with GHH providing full support and funding of the screenings.

GHH has reached agreements with Franklin Community High School, Greenwood Community High School, & Whiteland Community High School in Johnson County to provide cardiac screenings for all high school athletes.  If you are a parent of a Franklin High School, Greenwood High School, or Whiteland High School student/athlete, and have not gotten a cardiac screening certificate yet and want one, please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. **Cardiac screenings will consist of full evaluation of family medical history , Electrocardiogram (ECG) and Echocardiogram, which are non-invasive and painless tests utilized to detect any previously undetected heart conditions, and potentially life-threatening conditions.**
